Sat, Aug 23: Members of The Ace in the Hole Band

About six years ago, three members of George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band began playing music at a local college night club, within a few miles of where they lived. Ron Huckaby, George’s bandleader and piano player, along with steel guitarist Mike Daily, who is an original founding member of Ace in the Hole, and front man/guitar/fiddle player Benny McArthur, called in some other musician friends to round out a six piece band for their weekly gig. Backed by the rhythm section of in demand San Antonio drummer Dan Dreeben and San Marcos bass player/singer Tom Batts, the boys have recruited three rotating front men to lend lead vocals and multi instrumentation to the group.

With the boys at Coupland Dancehall will be Steve Anderson. Steve lends himself as an excellent vocalist and guitar player. Steve has toured with Gene Watson, Rick Trevino and countless other Texas artist.

What began as a one night-a-week local jam session when the boys weren’t touring, has graduated to numerous offers to perform at other venues throughout Texas. Ron, Mike, Benny, along with their various fellow pickers, play the old style country music that they were raised on. They also throw some contemporary country, a little swing, some originals, the occasional rock or blues tune, and of course, some George Strait tunes, into the mix.
" We have a fun time playing music and we want the crowds to have a great time too, whether they are dancing or just listening".

Sat, Sep 6: Wade Bowen

If it’s true what they say, that parenthood teaches some of the most profound lessons in patience and humility, this could partly explain the professional maturation that singer-songwriter Wade Bowen has experienced over the last couple of years. Settled nicely into his new role of father and family man, Wade Bowen has learned that both in the music process and in life, it’s hard to rush a good thing. Thankfully while recording his February 2006 release, Lost Hotel, Wade Bowen had time to push a step further and truly come into his own, resulting in his most depth-reaching, acclaimed effort yet.

Today, he’s already a familiar and awarded name in music, performing along the active touring highways of Texas and the Southwest and selling out top venues like the legendary Gruene Hall in New Braunfels. Carving out a dedicated fan base with his magnetic appeal and proven abilities, Wade Bowen has enjoyed a 7 year stint as a leader amongst a flourishing Americana and Alt-Country music community. From the numerous successes of his February 2006 release, Lost Hotel, to his recent tour with Lee Ann Womack and Friends, Wade Bowen shows absolutely no sign of slowing down.
